Raleigh - Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that the 2010 North Carolina Teacher Working Conditions Survey is now available online at www.ncteachingconditions.org. Educators have until April 16, 2010 to complete the survey.

Raleigh - Gov. Bev Perdue today appointed F. Lane Williamson as a resident Superior Court Judge for the 26 B Judicial District covering Mecklenburg County. Williamson will fill the unexpired term created by the resignation of Judge Robert P. Johnston on Jan. 12.

Heat Exchanger Manufacturer to Bring 73 Jobs, $6.5 Million Investment to Catawba County

Raleigh - Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that Turbotec Products Inc., an international supplier of heat exchangers and heat transfer products for the heating, refrigeration and geothermal markets, will greatly expand its presence in Catawba County. The company will move the bulk of its manufacturing operations from Connecticut to Hickory, adding 73 jobs and investing $6.5 million in the next three years. The project was made possible in part by a $76,500 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.

Census Estimates 38,000 Jobs for North Carolina

Raleigh - Gov. Bev Perdue today announced that the U.S. Census Bureau is now targeting 37,789 positions through September for temporary jobs in North Carolina. After a first wave of hires that began in January, the Census Bureau has begun hiring for a secondary phase.
